Xyst in action
Recreation and the outdoors are a core part of my identity – an avid hiker, trail runner, mountain biker, camper, skier, cycle tourer, swimmer, nature play enthusiast (for my children), sports mum (read: on the side of many a pool, hockey field, basketball court etc), lover of indigenous flora and fauna. I truly appreciate the importance of open spaces, parks and community facilities to individual and community wellbeing.
I’ve come to realise that what I thought were just my personal interests are actually a strong knowledge base about recreation, places, visitors and the complexities and opportunities for how our community and open spaces are created, used and managed.
